Master the 1000m SkiErg with proper technique and pacing strategies.

Equipment & Setup

  • Concept2 SkiErg
  • Distance: 1000m
  • Damper setting: 5-7 recommended

Technique

  • Start with feet shoulder-width apart
  • Grip handles at shoulder height
  • Drive down with straight arms and hip hinge
  • Pull through with core engaged
  • Return handles smoothly to starting position

Common Mistakes

  • Pulling with arms only
  • Bending elbows too early
  • Not using leg drive
  • Starting too fast

Training Tips

  • 4 x 250m with 1-minute rest
  • Technique work at lower damper settings
  • Practice pacing with 2 x 500m efforts
  • Include in HIIT workouts
