Equipment & Setup

  • Concept2 Rower
  • Distance: 1000m
  • Damper setting: 6-8 recommended

Technique

  • Start at catch position, shins vertical
  • Drive with legs first
  • Lean back slightly at finish
  • Arms pull last, elbows in
  • Control the return slide

Common Mistakes

  • Opening back too early
  • Rushing the slide
  • Poor sequencing
  • Starting too fast

  • 5 x 200m with 30s rest
  • Practice rate control
  • Focus on power per stroke
  • Include longer steady pieces
